Ctrack’s fleet solution takes operator savings to the Maxx
Ctrack’s large fleet Solution, Maxx, has added quantifiable value to Oakley Carriers, one of Southern Africa’s largest transport operators. The company transports a diverse product range, including Chrome for the mining industry, as well as milk and beer to some of the largest retail groups in South Africa.
Maxx is a single software platform that allows efficient fleet and asset control, as well as dynamic route management, all of which lower Oakley Carriers’ total costs per kilometre.
Oakley Carrier’s fleet of truck tractors and trailers are fitted with Ctrack’s top-of-the-range Solo tracking units, which means operations managers can see the company’s vehicles on office computers and mobile devices anywhere in South Africa, Botswana or Namibia in real-time.
Daily vehicle performance reports are available too, and can be set to report only on unacceptable risks or route deviations, among other anomalies.
In addition to the tracking services, Oakley Carriers also opted for Ctrack’s fully integrated camera system, which stores up to one terabyte of video footage to a local hard drive. Recorded video can then be downloaded at depots over Wi-Fi, after which behavioural irregularities can be investigated.
“Ctrack has impressed us with its attention to detail,” says Nardus Meyer, CEO of the Oakley group of companies.
“This is a total solution that is flexible in terms of its capabilities, and which provides our fleet managers with precise control over driven kilometers, routes and driver fatigue. This has resulted in a safe and economical fleet operation.”
Mr. Cobus Grove, Chief Operating Officer for Ctrack Global, , says Ctrack’s product range continues to serve the many needs of transport operators. “The benefits realised by Oakley Carriers come as no surprise to us. Fleets like theirs can save between 10 and 25% of their total fuel costs, once Ctrack systems like Maxx have been installed,” he adds.
